Sensors for Liquid Media Applications

ThermIQ® high-temperature sensors for liquid media applications address process furnaces, reactors, melting furnaces, metal extruders, and other critical assets that manage molten and high-pressure liquids. The sensors employ specialty materials and enable reliable measurement in corrosive environments like molten salts. By providing unmatched insight during the process with their in-situ capabilities, the products help improve control, monitoring, and on-spec production in these critical assets. Sporian can help meet the sensing needs of process operators, metal makers, and energy providers; and is prepared to support OEM system development efforts.

These sensors are in late-stage development, and Sporian is seeking partners to help prove the product in operational environments.

Capacitive Liquid Pressure Sensor

The ThermIQ® capacitive liquid pressure sensor probe is operable to 850°C for in-situ molten liquid applications. The sensor helps improve fuel efficiency and on-spec production in industrial melting, heat transfer, and thermal energy storage assets. The sensor can be modified for a range of media and corrosion environments. These sensors are well-proven in molten salt operational environments like concentrating solar power (CSP) plants and molten salt reactors, and Sporian is seeking metal industry partners to prove the products similarly in aluminum and steel manufacturing applications.

Resistive Liquid-Flow Sensor

The ThermIQ® resistive liquid-flow sensor is operable to 700°C for in-situ molten liquid applications. Like the liquid pressure sensor, the product helps improve control, fuel efficiency, and on-spec production in industrial melting, heat transfer, and heat storage assets, and can be modified for a range of media and corrosion environments. These sensors are well-proven in molten salt operational environments like CSP plants and molten salt reactors. Sporian is seeking metal and process industry partners to prove the products similarly in aluminum and petrochemical manufacturing applications.
